FAQ

Personal

Where are you from?

I am proudly born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina! Although I’ve traveled to so many places, nothing beats home like NC.

What do you do for work that allows you to travel so much?

About a decade ago now, I got into the industry of marketing. I fell in love with the idea of traveling so much and having fun, but earning a living from it too. I jumped in and haven’t looked back since. Now, I’m sharing those adventures on a more detailed platform with the blog and social media!

Are you more of a city or a country chick?

It’s hard to pick one over the other as I enjoy things from both sides. I love dressing up and trying out new fashions and keeping up with the latest products. However, I’m very quick to grab my Wranglers, boots, and a ballcap to go outside and work on the farm – chickens and everything! I’m the type of chick who by day will be knee deep in mud, chopping logs and feeding the chickens, but also come nightfall, be in a flattering dress, heels, and my Chanel purse. It’s called balance, ladies and gents.

How tall are you?

I am 5’10” exactly!

What was the inspiration for the blog name?

I was born on Easter morning years ago. So, being not only the baby, but the only girl, AND being born on Easter, my life was consumed with pink hues and bunnies. To this day, I still enjoy the girly colors and items that influenced my childhood. Also, I know I want to take this blog to the next level and turn it into my full time business one day. So, I wanted a name to reflect that journey that is not limited to one subject or genre. The phrase “bunny trails” in society often refers to going off the main path. Although my main path is travel, I want to have that freedom to discuss other topics too like recipes and blogging tips. So, pairing those two thoughts (and going through name ideas for over two months!), The Bunny Trails was born one late evening staring at my screen while sipping chamomile tea from my porcelain bunny mug! Sometimes the simplest ideas will be the perfect game plan.

Wellness

What type of exercises and workouts do you enjoy the most?

I thoroughly enjoy HIIT workouts on the stairmaster. I feel the most satisfied after that type of cardio as oppose to running. As far as resistance, the key for me is to switch it up so I don’t grow bored. I use YouTube videos and save workouts on Instagram to try out. It keeps my muscles guessing and my mind actively engaged with each exercise. Also, I am very happy lifting heavy weights. I’ve never been the type to want to be in a competition of any sort, nor do I want to look like if the wind picked up, I’d blow away with it. So, that’s my philosophy, to do HIIT and pick up heavy weights.

Also, don’t temp me with a good time playing volleyball! I won’t be responsible for any injuries of feelings when I win. Growing up with two older competitive and athletic brothers may have rubbed off on me just a tad.

How do you deal with the stresses of work or life that come your way?

Probably one of the most important questions I’m asked, because I believe it’s extremely important to take care of yourself and put yourself first when it comes to what your mind, body, and heart are needing. I have a collection of teas that I use depending on my body needs. I also practice a very powerful form of gratitude. Every morning before my feet hit the ground, I say outloud three things I am grateful for, and already thanking the Lord for the great things I am going to accomplish today. A Grateful mind can move mountains.

Really enjoyed reading about your trip to Alaska! I was there (in Fairbanks too!) in summer 2018. It looked pretty different without all the snow! Really enjoyed your packing list too 🙂
